What this policy covers
This policy explains how CoursePeek handles information when you browse courses, create an account, publish reviews, suggest courses, report reviews, block authors, or contact support.
Information you provide
Accounts use an email address, password, and an internal account identifier. Supabase manages password authentication. Reviews include the course, instructor, semester, ratings, study hours, teaching and assessment details, and written advice. We also store course suggestions, reports and their details, and the account identifiers involved in blocks. If you email support, we receive your email address and the information you include.
What other users can see
Published reviews and their course details are available to other users, including users who are not signed in. Your email address is not displayed on reviews. Reviews are linked to an internal account identifier for ownership and moderation; they are not fully anonymous. Your writing may identify you, so avoid including personal information. Course suggestions are private pending review; approved course details become part of the public catalog. Reports and block records are not displayed publicly.
How information is used
We use this information to authenticate users, display course reviews, manage ownership and deletion, review course suggestions and reports, apply blocks, prevent misuse, and respond to support requests. Browsing does not require an account. Publishing, reporting, suggesting courses, and blocking require sign-in.
Storage and service providers
CoursePeek uses Supabase for authentication, database hosting, and server functions. Information is sent to Supabase to operate these features. Authentication sessions are stored on your device so you can stay signed in. Hosting and authentication services may process technical information such as IP addresses, request times, and error logs for operation and security. Authorized operators can access information needed for support and moderation. Provider hosting may involve processing outside your country.
Sharing and tracking
We do not sell your personal information or use it for targeted advertising. This version of the app does not include advertising or a separate analytics service and does not request access to your contacts, precise location, camera, or microphone. We share information with service providers to operate CoursePeek and may disclose information when legally required. Published reviews are shared with users as described above.
Retention and deletion
Account-linked information is kept while your account remains active unless you remove it or request deletion. You can delete your own reviews in the app. Reports may retain a saved copy of a removed review for moderation. Deleting your account removes your account, reviews, submitted suggestions and reports, related blocks, and saved moderation copies of your reviews from the live database. Approved catalog courses remain available. Operational logs, backups, and support email correspondence are separate from this deletion process and may remain according to provider retention settings or as needed to resolve support, security, or legal matters.
Your choices
Use Account → Delete account to delete your account. Use the delete option on your own review to remove it. You can unblock authors from Account. Contact the email below to request access, correction, or deletion of information or to ask about retention. We may need to verify account ownership before acting on a request. Signing out ends your local app session; it does not delete your account.
Security
Access controls and authentication help protect account information and private records. No system can guarantee complete security. Do not include passwords or sensitive personal information in reviews, reports, or support emails.
Children
CoursePeek is intended for college students and is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information, contact us so we can investigate and remove it.
Policy updates
We may update this policy as the app changes. The effective date above identifies the current version. Material changes will be communicated through the app or another appropriate channel.
